By Jurriaan van Hall
The theme of Jurriaan's workshop was one of the special features of Aruba; the 'Status Aparte' which the island enjoyed from 1986 to 2010.
In addition to its political meaning, it turned out to be an imaginative term, which in a figurative sense is reminiscent of words such as: liberal, separate, deviant, independent, in short: special.
As a symbol for this status, the participants set to work with the concept of flag. which depicts the identity in bright colors and contours.
During this workshop, participants made their own flag that waved in the exhibition.
