In this workshop Moritz taught his students to use gold in their work.
According to an etymologist, the name Aruba would be a corruption of Oro Uba, which would mean “the gold is gone” or, in other words, Gold Here.
After a work-period of a month the concluding exhibition was organized in a jeweler-shop, Artistique Boutique, Oranjestad.
Moritz about the opening: “The day before yesterday a very good opening the whole street was closed. 300 people came. The opening took place at the jeweler Artistique Boutique in the heart of the shopping center in Oranjestad. There were the works of art among the jewelry, there was a dance performance in gold, plus the best DJ on the island. The shop had a turnover of more than a month one evening, and art was also sold, including earrings handmade by me immediately.“
