By Karolien Helweg and Ruben de la Cruz

Karolien Helweg and Ruben de la Cruz came to Aruba to continue their research into the use of tin-clad houses in Aruba, which had been started earlier in Curaçao.
The lost heritage of the tin-clad houses in Aruba, was especially known in The Village at San Nicolas in the glory days of the Lago refinery. They conducted this research with the participants of the guest lectures given under the title "Turn your heritage into art" or "Make art from your heritage!" at Ateliers '89.
The past was mapped out by means of oral history.
