By Telka van Dodewaard
Telka took the participants next to ceramics into the world of installation art.
An installation meant that the artwork occupies a larger space. Compared to a separate image Telka showed you could not only walk around and view it, but also literally stand in it. The viewer thus became part of the artwork.
The working title for the workshop was; 'The Altar to Ceramics'. An altar without religion, an altar without candles, an altar just to give the created ceramic statue a beautiful stage. The installation strengthened or questioned the image, challenged it, silenced it or entered into a dialogue with it.
