In this workshop, together with Glenda, we will look for telltale signs in art and fashion. Indicator signs are signs that anticipate a future event. The robin is an indicator of spring: its presence means that spring is coming.
As a theme we will be inspired by “CLOUDS". They dress our earth and also are our clothes, whether it be hot or cold.
Clouds are our graceful look, from thin wisps to menacing storm clouds. They stimulate our imagination and are food for the imagination. Looking at the sky awakens creativity.
But aside from looking cool, they also help meteorologists predict the weather and other scientific researchers study life on earth and interpret future events as much as possible.
Clouds are an important part of Earth's climate. For example, they can turn into rain. All functions of clouds have a direct impact on the citizens of our planet, both positive and negative. In the workshop we were inspired by all the possible forms of the cloud and how this can be related to our vision of the art of fashion.
The contemporary production of our fashion pollutes the earth and its water, which in turn changes. In an invisible gas and partly in visible water vapor as clouds. This process is called evaporation.
What happens if we let the current view of fashion evaporate?
Will the vaporized fashion become cloud fashion, an invisible fashion?
Do we see harbingers of a new and sustainable way of dealing with fashion and can we already shape it ourselves through our art?
With Glenda, we will undertake this research and draw on our creativity to design our own new Meteo Art and Fashion Weather Map with the help of visual processes.
