As in other years, the final presentation of the fashion workshop is once again part of the major fashion event on the island, Aruba in Style.
In the workshop "Opposites attract", the participant went in search of his or her own style and came into contact with all aspects of the design process; concept development, making mood boards, figure drawing, collection sketches, material determination and of course the presentation of your design.
Everyone was welcome for the workshop, with or without experience. Everyone was assisted and assessed at their own level. Only full commitment and motivation was expected.
The workshop was supervised by fashion designer Mirte Engelhard. She graduated in 2010 from the ArtEZ Academy of Visual Arts Arnhem. She currently has her own label and shop in "the fashion quarter" in Arnhem and her collection is available in several stores in the Netherlands.
